Overview

How do you approach communication?

Do you stay open and present during disagreements, or do you sometimes get defensive or tune out?

Do you face “difficult conversations” with clarity and kindness, or do you avoid them while resentment festers inside?

Do you share your genuine ideas and emotions, or do you find yourself oversharing or not sharing enough?

Do you listen to other’s perspectives with the same presence you like to be listened to?

If any of these rings true... you’re not alone. We can all do better in our communication.

7 Pillars of Confident and Compassionate Communication

Seven principles to help us be seen and heard – and see and hear others – in our conversations.

1. Look inward

Holistic practices to increase your self-awareness and the emotions, beliefs, and expectations between you and another person.

2. Gain Perspective

Guided exercises to build your empathy muscle and view situations from different perspectives. This helps us understand others more and soften our judgments.

3. Get clarity

Prompts and exercises to get to the root of your intention - why is this conversation important and what do you truly want to get from it? This clarity gives you a grounding standing from where you can more assertively express your needs.

4. Share with heart and meaning

Explore your tone range, body language, and how to express yourself openly. Because it's often not what we say, but how we say it.

5. Open and Active Listening

A deep dive into the powerful practice of Open and Active Listening. Hone the skills that can help you boost your listening and improve the quality of your questions.

6. Stay in your body

Prompts and practices to help you navigate the discomfort that arises when we are “activated.” Learn somatic (body) based skills that can increase your emotional resilience so you can hold strong emotions without bursting or suppressing.

Audience

Who is this for?

* Please note that we don’t have specific trainings on how to speak to specific groups of people, instead the focus is teaching you relational skills that you can translate into any relationship.

Conscious communicators who want better strategies to manage common communication behaviors like suppressing your voice, lashing out, lacking tact or clarity, always trying to win arguments, or having difficulty with connecting emotionally.

Couples who want to better listen to one another to create a deeper connection.

Facilitators, coaches, and teachers who want to learn a powerful framework to help their clients have better conversations.

Managers, leaders, and business owners who want tools to have important (aka “difficult”) conversations that create more confidence, clarity, connection, and collaboration in their teams.

Parents and caregivers who want tools to better listen to, speak with, and connect with their children while also creating a safer space for their children to communicate openly with them.

Frequently Asked Questions

How we communicate shapes all of our relationships. It's surprising that we don't learn those skills in school, and most of us didn't have great role models growing up (our grown-ups didn't have role models either!)

In this program, you'll be able to uncover your communication patterns and how they may contribute to resentment or separation in your relationships.

There will be plenty to exercises to help you clarity your intention, explore your tone range, develop stronger listening skills, and connect with your assertive expression. You'll also widen your perspective around all the layers present when relating with other people so you can use this awareness to be more intentional in your interactions.

You'll walk away from this program with a powerful and unique framework to support you as you approach the challenging conversations we need to have in our lives.

We'll gather via zoom 6 times during a seven week period (there will be a one week break towards the end to allow time for practice and integration). You'll be able to ask questions, receive feedback and practice key relational skills.

We'll also go over each step in more detail and practice in real life how we can have better conversations. These calls powerful and highly interactive.

Those you can't join live will be able to send their questions in advance. Questions will be replied via email as calls won't be recorded to protect the intimacy and confidentiality created in the space.

There’s not a right or wrong way to go about this; we each have our pace. You can go through all the content in one go, or you can spread it out.

What we have found most valuable is to go through the content two or three times. So we recommend you aim to spend 3-4 weeks reviewing the videos, completing the worksheets, and practicing some of the skills. Then, we invite you to take a break and dive into the content again, as it is likely that you will discover new things each time around. You'll have unlimited access to the content.

Ideally, you’d like to spend about 1-2 hours a week, for about 3-4 weeks, to go over the content and complete all the worksheets plus the 90min Community Call. The practice portion of this program will be ongoing. You can think about the next few months as an ongoing exploration into your communication, with plenty of opportunities to notice your coping mechanisms and how they impact how you listen, speak, and respond to your triggers.

Make sure you have friends or expert support, such as a certified mental health professional, if needed, available to help you process your experience. If you have experienced severe trauma, please check with your mental health providers before embarking on this journey. Be gentle with yourself, and take your time doing this program. Reach out to hello@everythingbetweenus.com if you have any questions or need help.

It would be wonderful if both of you were open to completing this program and then practicing the skills together. But as therapist and relationship expert, Esther Perel, says, “You change the other by changing yourself.” So by changing how YOU communicate with your partner, you will see a change in the relationship.

You’ll have access to this content for life - or for as long as this program exists.

Upon request we offer a "sliding scale" option. This is meant to open a different conversation around money, one when we are invited to look at our financial resources and levels of economic advantage. Please be mindful that if you request a lower price when you can truthfully afford the higher ticket price, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility.

Being honest with yourself and your financial situation when engaging with sliding scale practices grows strong and sustainable communities. It also respects the work of teachers, facilitators, and creators, like us. Additionally, when we are paid fairly, we are able to invest more time and resources to create free and lower-cost offerings.

Email us at hello@everythingbetweenus.com to inquiry.

All purchases are final, and we don't offer refunds on this program at this time. Please make sure you have the time and willingness to practice these skills. We welcome all conversations about money and economic justice. Please send us an email to hello@everythingbetweenus.com letting us know why you are interested in this program and what your financial situation is, and we'll be happy to discuss options with you. Equally, if you are able to pay more than the currency price, let us know. Your support and generosity will be appreciated and used towards scholarships.
